Hi! We are Ira and Katya.
Genealogy and history are our passion. We truly believe that knowing your family’s past matters — and that it can be genuinely fascinating. It brings people closer together and helps us better understand ourselves and one another. We want more families to discover their stories and preserve this memory for themselves and for future generations.
We know that researching family history on your own can be challenging — especially in the former USSR. That’s where we come in.
We don’t just “look up records.” Every family story is unique, and we go beyond the obvious — exploring lesser-known sources and finding creative ways to uncover the past. We reconstruct context and turn archival files into a living, breathing history of your family.
We also create digital museums and work with digital heritage (you can see examples in the "Projects" section).
If you have always wanted to untangle your family history, drop us a line, and we will help you make it happen.

It's important for us not just to collect dry facts and dates, but to restore the living history of a person and their family. We recreate the context: what was around, what was happening in the country and their village. Without this, it is impossible to understand the motivation for ancestor's decisions.
We find every available fact, we don't limit ourselves to birth records. Genealogy is creative work, and we approach every task with an individual plan.
A large part of our work is independent research. We do it ourselves or volunteering with other projects. The breadth of research topics allows us to understand the world a little better.
You need to know history to draw conclusions. Especially — your own history. We are sure that every person's life has something to tell, and every person's name must be preserved.
